At PlanB Chamonix, a hotel is more than just a place to drop your bags. It’s a vibrant, hybrid space rooted in its local community at the foot of Mont Blanc. Because we care deeply about this valley, we’ve chosen to take responsibility for our impact.

We’re skipping the empty talk and greenwashing: our CSR approach is built on concrete, measurable actions driven by a constant desire to move toward more sustainable tourism.

Fairscore x Fairmoove: our environmental compass

You can't improve what you don't measure. That is why PlanB Living Chamonix, like all establishments in the Mont-Blanc Collection group, uses the Fairscore methodology developed by Fairmoove.

This independent tool quantifies the actual carbon footprint of a night spent with us (breakfast included), based on verifiable data. This score isn't just for show: it is our dashboard for making progress, year after year, toward more sustainable and equitable hospitality.

Luniwave smart showers: all our rooms are equipped with the Luniwave system, which provides real-time feedback on shower water consumption to encourage more mindful usage.

Cosmetics made in Haute-Savoie: our guest toiletries by Terre de Mars are eco-designed, locally made, and refillable. The result: healthy products and zero single-use plastic in your bathrooms!

Integrated recycling: waste management is part of our daily routine, both behind the scenes and in the rooms.

A menu that follows the seasons: our Chef and her team cook everything in-house, adjusting the menu to the rhythm of the seasons.

Spotlight on valley producers: we prioritize working with local artisans and producers from Chamonix. Less transport, more flavor, and a local economy that benefits directly.

Our social and local commitments

CSR is about more than just ecology. For a committed hotel, the human and social aspect is just as essential. That is why the heart of PlanB beats in rhythm with its community.

We actively support the local associations, athletes, and events that bring the Chamonix valley and the Mont-Blanc region to life:

1% Mont-Blanc, an organization founded by Florio Hummel-Azaïs that brings together over 300 young people from the valley to work on value-creating projects.
Léo Slemett, a skier with a passion for the mountains and challenges, and an early supporter of PlanB.
Merlin Surget and the Surget Team, for whom PlanB serves as a base camp.
The Pionniers hockey team, a Chamonix institution over 110 years old.
And numerous local events: Chamonix Film Festival, IF3, Chamonix Photo Festival, UNES Festival, Rotary...

#StOpE, a commitment that matters: we actively fight against everyday sexism in the workplace to ensure our teams work in a healthy, respectful, and inclusive environment.

Training and growing our teams: apprentices, interns, young people changing careers... PlanB Living Chamonix is committed to passing on expertise in the hospitality and catering industry. We also encourage internal mobility within the Mont-Blanc Collection group, allowing everyone to grow and discover our different roles and establishments.

Local environmental commitment

Sustainability is also built through small daily actions, in connection with local stakeholders in the valley. Alongside Ecotrivelo, a Chamonix pioneer in composting, PlanB is one of the first organic waste collection points in the valley.

We also support Toits des Cimes, a citizen cooperative founded in 2021 that develops renewable energy production projects in the valley, starting with a 544-panel photovoltaic power plant installed on the roof of the Chamonix Municipal Technical Center.
